25" Vintage Navajo Pearl Bead Necklace

  • 25" Vintage Navajo Pearl Bead Necklace - Historically, Navajo Pearls date back to the late 1500s, with the introduction of silver by Spanish explorers. Each individual "bead" is made by hand from sterling silver that is melted, rolled, and cut. Holes are punched, rounded, then each bead is sanded and polished. Unlike machine-made beads of perfect uniformity, handmade beads like these will each be unique. There is a revival of interest in handmade beads these days!

This necklace is 24-1/2" long, with special Navajo Pearl beads with seams in the middle that are slightly graduated in size, from 8 to 15 mm, and stamped with an intricate design. They are strung on a stiffer chain/wire, so you'll know they are tight and secure. A future heirloom and a great necklace for any outfit!
