The Jewelry Lady Red River is located in the center of town at 100 West Main Street, inside the historic Frye's Old Town building, est. 1950.
Red River, New Mexico is an old mining town turned mountain vacation destination for skiers, hikers, bikers, fishermen, and families looking to relax and reconnect in a small town surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Inside our store in Red River, New Mexico. My husband and I have lived in Red River since 1989. We both have done about every job in town – typical resort town people, rushing from one shift to the next to make ends meet. We both come from the plains and were raised in the flatlands – he was raised a Texas boy and I am a Kansas farmer’s daughter. He has always supported my “adventures”; we bought Frye’s Old Town and the Jewelry Lady over 10 years ago.
Frye’s Old Town was Randall’s first job when he came to “Red” as a 19-year-old. We actually found an old paystub of his when cleaning out the Frye’s family office: he made $3/per hour! The store is a Red River icon and has been in operation since 1959. We are the “store that does the gunfights.” The Jewelry Lady was originally owned by Meri Love, who sold the name and most of her inventory to me when she retired after owning the store for 10 years.
We have lived in Red River for over 30 years – we love the mountains and the high desert plains of Northern New Mexico. We both have come to embrace the diverse lifestyle that New Mexico offers – horses, skiing, hunting, small towns, and close friends. Running two small businesses, raising kids, marriage – everyday life – we are grateful to Jesus for keeping us in the palm of His hand.
