Vintage 26" Variety of Bead Shapes Navajo Pearl Necklace

  • Vintage 26" Variety of Bead Shapes Navajo Pearl Necklace - Historically, Navajo Pearls date back to the late 1500s, with the introduction of silver by Spanish explorers. Each individual "bead" is made by hand from sterling silver that is melted, rolled, and cut. Holes are punched, rounded, then each bead is sanded and polished. Unlike machine-made beads of perfect uniformity, handmade beads like these will each be unique. There is a revival of interest in handmade beads these days!

This necklace is 25-1/2" long, with half-seamed round beads, and tapered 3/4" barrels. This necklace has a beautiful oxidized patina that shows its vintage era. The beads are 8 mm in repeating patterns. A future heirloom and a great necklace for any outfit! Plays well with others, too!
