Vintage 24" Smooth Saucer Navajo Pearl Necklace

  • Vintage 24" Smooth Saucer Navajo Pearl Necklace - MARKED DOWN! Historically, Navajo Pearls date back to the late 1500s, with the introduction of silver by Spanish explorers.  Each individual "bead" is made by hand from sterling silver that is melted, rolled, and cut. Holes are punched, rounded, then each bead is sanded and polished. Unlike machine-made beads of perfect uniformity, handmade beads like these will each be unique. There is a revival of interest in handmade beads these days!

This necklace is 23-1/2" long, with extreme saucer shape smooth shiny beads that are graduated in size from 16 to 24 mm, culminating in the 1-3/8" biggest one in the middle. The findings are especially beautiful, in this case a 2-1/4" tapered barrel bead near the clasp. A future heirloom and a great necklace for any outfit to show your love of the southwest and native artistry.

Note: small imperfections are part of vintage estate pieces.
