Vintage 70s Tufa Turquoise Bracelet

  • Sandcast pieces from the 1970s such as this beautiful turquoise stone bracelet are made with generous amounts of sterling silver and have a high quality feel and weight. Silversmithing techniques were brought to the New World by the Spanish and taught to the people of Mexico, where the Navajo people learned these difficult labor-intensive techniques using casting from carved Tufa Stone. Chevrons, teeny rope braid, and detailed stamped petit points of silver surround the rectangular matrixed turquoise stone on this collectible bracelet.
